Frequently Asked Questions
How does the calculator determine which tax schedule to use?
By default, the tool suggests a verified national tax model based on your approximate geographic region. You can freely switch to any of the 8 supported jurisdictions via the tax model dropdown.
Does "Income After Tax" equal my monthly bank take-home pay?
No. "Income after estimated income tax" reflects gross salary minus personal income tax only. It deliberately excludes payroll taxes, mandatory pension contributions (such as 401(k), CPF, MPF, or National Insurance), and employer benefit deductions.
Are regional and municipal taxes included?
For federal systems like the United States and Canada, calculations represent federal ordinary income tax schedules. State, provincial, territorial, and municipal income taxes vary by locality and are excluded.
