String & Formatting

Markdown Previewer

Live GitHub-flavored Markdown editor and HTML previewer with DOMPurify sanitization and export.

How It Works & Methodology

Markdown is a lightweight markup language designed for plain-text readability and formatting. This browser previewer parses GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM) using marked@18.1.2 and sanitizes the output with DOMPurify, neutralizing XSS vectors like malicious scripts, javascript: protocol links, and event attributes.

Markdown text -> marked.parse(markdown) -> DOMPurify.sanitize(rawHtml) -> Safe Browser DOM Malicious elements (<script>, <style>, <iframe>, event handlers) are stripped before rendering.
Key Assumptions & Scope:
  • GFM table syntax and line-breaks are enabled by default.
  • Rendered output is strictly filtered against Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) payloads.
  • Processing executes entirely in-memory on the client without uploading content.
