About Cyclone Tools & Our Calculation Methods

Free browser utilities and transparent financial estimates, with editable regional defaults, dated tax rules and links to official sources.

What the site provides

Cyclone Tools combines calculators, text utilities, image tools and developer helpers. Most tools calculate in your browser. Currency conversion retrieves published reference rates, and the video downloader uses a separate server service with clearly stated availability limits.

Regional defaults are suggestions

We use a local country-level IP database to suggest a country and currency. You can choose another country, currency or tax jurisdiction. A network location does not establish tax residence. Mortgage examples and work schedules are editable starting assumptions, not current lender quotes or a statement of your employment contract.

How financial estimates are calculated

Loan schedules use the displayed interest convention and currency precision. Canadian fixed-mortgage estimates can use nominal semiannual compounding. Salary conversion uses the work hours, days and weeks you enter. Changing an amount's currency unit does not itself convert that amount using an exchange rate; use the currency converter for that purpose.

Tax rules, review dates and limits

Tax pages identify the income period, rule version, filing assumptions, deductions and excluded taxes. US and Canadian estimates cover federal income tax only. Income after estimated income tax excludes other payroll withholdings and is not a take-home-pay calculation. Fiscal-year labels remain fixed until the underlying official rules are reviewed; they do not advance automatically with the calendar.

Sources and attribution

The utility foundation is OmniTools, distributed under the MIT License. Country lookup uses IP Geolocation by DB-IP Lite data under CC BY 4.0. Currency reference data comes from Frankfurter; the converter shows the returned publication date.
